The Future of Protein for Supplements & Greens

A foresight-led market intelligence study that turned social and cultural signals into clear white-space opportunities for US product innovation and growth.

Method Toolbox

Framing the Problem

A global leader in protein sports nutrition wanted to expand into supplements and greens – a fast-moving, crowded market. The challenge was to identify where the real white spaces were and understand what consumers wanted that the category was not yet giving them.

Our Approach

We blended social listening at scale via Pulsar with cultural scanning, qualitative ethnography and desk research. Consumer conversations across platforms revealed emerging needs and gaps, which we mapped into detailed personas and plotted against existing and predicted category spaces in the US market.

The Breakthrough

We grounded each white-space opportunity in real consumer language and category evidence, combining social signals, market data and cultural trend analysis. We translated the findings into specific product formulation opportunities, value propositions and a clear brand positioning roadmap – giving the client a commercially actionable view of where to play next.
